West Ham vs Arsenal: Player Ratings, Man Of The Match & Flop Of The Match

Arsenal News HQ brings you the latest Arsenal news, match analysis, transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from trusted media outlets around the world.

We have just thrown away 4 points to mid-table teams and our opportunity to put a foothold in the top 4 spot before before the weekend.

To be honest, I’m still trying to figure out Arsene Wenger’s tactics going into this game.

Why start a Giroud and not play to his strengths?

The lads kept on cutting back in and trying to find a way through the middle when it was clearly obvious David Moyes had set up his side to be compact through the middle.

With Angelo Ogbonna and Winston Reid (not the tallest in the EPL) in central defence, you’d expect balls to be whipped in from the flanks to Giroud constantly till he finds the back of the net or till the West Ham defence wear-out and force a mistake.

Or the ball drops behind for a tap-in just as the chance Wilshere had in the game.

Anyway, here is how we rate the lads with Sanchez our Flop Of The Match (FOTM) for his senseless dribbles and constant loss of possession to West Ham.

Our Man Of The Match has to be Jack Wilshere, as he was the only lad who looked like he wanted all three points. Not forgetting his almost perfect pass completion rate as he created several chances going forward.

He also looked like he’d work well with Ozil in the middle of the park going forward, but it would mean we’d have to stick to the 4 at the back system to accommodate both players.

Below are the ratings for the rest of the squad.
