Wenger chasing Barca winger Tello on loan

Arsenal have reportedly approached Barcelona to loan their winger Cristian Tello for the remaining months of the campaign in a bid to provide more attacking options for the Gunners.

Wenger was snapped on his way to watch someone last week, and it was later revealed he was in attendance of Barca’s 4-1 win over Levante where Tello produced a stunning hat-trick in front of the Frenchman.

It appears he certainly had a lasting effect on the Gunners boss as he has reportedly made Tello one of his main targets for today’s Transfer Deadline Day.

“Arsenal are trying take Cristian Tello from Barcelona today. Contact has been made with the Spanish giants over loan for the rest of the season.” Sportsmail’s Sami Mokbel reported “Barca have shown a reluctance to let Tello go, but Arsenal aren’t giving up. As it stands, Tello and Julian Draxler will be the Gunners’ two main focuses of the day.”

With Theo Walcott out injured and central midfielders dropping like flies, Wenger will be forced into the market today to reinforce his squad best he can for their intense few months ahead of them. Oxlade-Chamberlain can shift inside but another winger will help provide more versatility.

Arsenal have a very strong squad, but their present situation demands some additional numbers on loan to help them through to the summer. Tello seems like a very exciting acquisition – lure him in Wenger!
