‘We have the quality’: Ramsey confident of success in tonight’s game

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has expressed his opinion that Arsenal are capable of winning against Olympiacos tonight, saying that the Gunners have the quality to secure the desired result to progress in the Champions League. Arsenal currently find themselves needing to win by a two goal margin to ensure qualification to the Round of 16.

We only have six points after the first five games in the group stages, having beating Dinamo Zagreb and Bayern Munich at home. The game against Olympaicos at the Emirates was a disaster however, as Ospina dropped the ball into his own net and we lost 3-2 on the night. We have yet to win away from home in Europe, making tonight a do or die scenario.

Speaking to Arsenal Player, this is what Ramsey had to say:

Of course but we have to choose the right times to do that but we will always create opportunities – just hopefully we can stop them, keep a clean sheet and grab a couple of goals ourselves.

It was never easy after the start we had but we have done well to come back into the position that we find ourselves in and it is in our hands – we know what we have to do. We got off to a good win today for December and hopefully we can continue this and keep ourselves in the hunt for the league and to hopefully qualify for the Champions League as well.

We know what we have to do and we believe we have enough quality to create the opportunities and score. Hopefully we can do that and keep a clean sheet.

Ramsey will be a key player for the team tonight; and the manager will expect him to deliver a strong performance from his preferred midfield role. The Welshman scored a scrappy goal in our previous game against Sunderland, which is hopefully a sign of things to come. The player himself has expressed his happiness at being started in central midfield and assured that he will do his best for the side, so let’s hope that Arsenal are able to get the desired result tonight.
