Updated: Watford vs Arsenal: Team News + Fresh Injury Blow For Gunners

Arsenal News HQ brings you the latest Arsenal news, match analysis, transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from trusted media outlets around the World.

The Premier League returns this weekend and Arsenal face a short trip to Watford to face the Hornets on Sunday and Arsenal have announced that Alexandre Lacazette will be out until October.

Arsenal gave updates on five players this week while we also learned that Lucas Torreira’s injury will not rule him out (he missed Uruguay’s second game of the international break).

Similarly, Granit Xhaka admitted this week he has been suffering from Achilles’s pain for a few weeks and was substituted in Switzerland’s second game but is expected to be fit to play.

Rob Holding is back in full training with the first team but it is unlikely we will see him start at Vicarage Road. I wouldn’t be surprised, however, to see him on the bench.

Although there were reports on Thursday that both Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney had returned to full training, that was only confirmed on Friday. The pair joined the first team in outside training, which was initially pitched as a step-up in their rehabilitation rather than the end of it. They are expected to feature for the u23s before we see them with the first team.

Emile Smith Rowe has also returned to full fitness and is ready to play.

Nicolas Pepe, who returned early from international duty, is also fit to play.

Alexandre Lacazette, meanwhile, has been ruled out until October with an ankle problem that needs rest and strengthening.
