Two outstanding Arsenal stars to be handed new bumper deal after impressing Unai Emery

Arsenal are set to offer new contracts to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, as the pair have been pivotal in any success the team has had this season.

Aubameyang and Lacazette have their Arsenal stock at an all-time high after scoring all seven goals in the team’s 7-3 aggregate semi-final win over Valencia in the Europa League.

Even many of the remaining doubters are coming around to admit the importance of the duo to the club.

Aubameyang has 39 goal contributions this season and Lacazette has 30, so it’s not hard to see what they add to Unai Emery’s side.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are understandably moving to secure the long-term futures of their striker partnership.

Talks are already planned this summer, and the Gunners are set to offer both players around £250,000 a week.

Aubameyang currently has a deal lasting until 2021, whilst Lacazette’s ends in 2022.

The club plan to offer Aubameyang a two-year extension, and though the Mail doesn’t give any details on Lacazette’s contract length, you’d expect it would be to 2023 as well.

If they saw it out, that would take Aubameyang to 33 years old and Lacazette to 31.

Of course, it’s very possible that one or both of them don’t really end up staying that long.

If Aubameyang isn’t living up to expectations in a couple of years’ time, for example, the Gunners can sell him on with two years on his contract, rather than losing him for free.

That’s the main aim here, avoiding more situations like Aaron Ramsey’s, Danny Welbeck’s or Alexis Sanchez’s.

Get the pair signed up before the exit speculation even starts and move on to bringing in the right players to support them.
