“Totally Confirmed” – PSG Finally Agree Surprise Deal for Arsenal Target Kurzawa

Layvin Kurzawa is going to join Juventus, not Arsenal, with Paris Saint-Germain agreeing on a swap deal for Mattia De Sciglio.

Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that a swap deal involving Layvin Kurzawa and Mattia De Sciglio is now ‘totally confirmed’. Kurzawa, a left-back, will join Juventus permanently despite talks with Arsenal.

Kurzawa had six months left on his contract, and he was second-choice at PSG. At 27 years old, it’s no surprise he’d want to move on to get the chance to make himself a starter again.

David Ornstein reported that Arsenal were in talks with the player over a January transfer. Those talks never seemed to progress into serious negotiations with his club though. PSG reportedly wanted at least €5m for a transfer now.

Arsenal could have agreed a pre-contract agreement to sign Kurzawa for free in the summer. They wouldn’t have to pay a transfer fee for that, only a signing-on bonus for the player himself.

Whether they decided against it or Kurzawa pushed for an immediate transfer somewhere else, we don’t know.

In all honesty, most Arsenal fans won’t be too unhappy. Kurzawa doesn’t have a great reputation in France, and Bukayo Saka is playing well. When Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac return, the club won’t need a fourth left-back option.
