Surprise Stats Shows Why Leeds Boss Went On Bizarre Rant Over Nketiah Re-call

Leeds United lost again at the weekend leaving them with just one win in seven games since Eddie Nketiah was recalled from his loan.

Since being recalled from Leeds due to a lack of playing time, Eddie Nketiah has already played and scored for Arsenal and it looks as if Marcelo Bielsa could have done with keeping him around, something he admitted not long after Nketiah returned.

Since the turn of the year, Leeds have played seven games, including their FA Cup tie against Arsenal, and have won just once – a 3-2 home win over Millwall after being 2-0 down.

They’ve also played West Brom (1-1 draw away), Arsenal (1-0 defeat away), Sheffield Wednesday (1-0 defeat home), QPR (1-0 defeat away), Wigan (1-0 defeat away) plus this weekend’s fixture which saw them lose 2-0 at Nottingham Forest.

All those games, as you can see, were very tight with just a single goal separating the sides in each one apart from the most recent match at Forest. Despite rarely getting a start, Nketiah averaged a goal or assist every 94 minutes, which isn’t bad at all for a young player often given just a few minutes to make a difference.

In total, Nketiah started just one Championship game for Leeds and in 19 games in all competitions for Bielsa he played the full 90 just once in the EFL Cup.

He scored in that game to get Leeds back into the match when they were 2-1 down. They went on to win the match 7-6 on penalties.
