Leicester City are trying to push through a quick move for Youri Tielemans amid concern Manchester United and Arsenal could pounce for the star, according to reports.
Tielemans has attracted the attention of several clubs while on loan at Leicester, and Monaco are prepared to cash in on the Belgian.
Arsenal and United are the hunt for creative midfielders this summer and the Daily Star claim Leicester have hatched a plan to keep Tielemans away from their Premier League rivals.
Brendan Rodgers has asked the Foxes to wrap up a permanent deal as quickly as possible, before the likes of United can enter the race.
Leicester are already in talks with Monaco and want to avoid a potential bidding war for Tielemans.
Monaco would of course prefer to pit several clubs against each other, but Leicester are hopeful a deal can be struck for the 22-year-old.
Tielemans himself has remained tight-lipped on his preferences ahead of a potential summer switch.
‘Normally, I’ll go back to Monaco this summer, unless something moves, but that’s not the case at the moment,’ Tielemans told VTM.
‘When things go well, of course, you want it to stay that way. ‘But I do not know how it’s going to go or how much Monaco are going to ask.’
After joining Leicester on loan in January, Tielemans scored three times and provided four assists in 13 appearances in the league.
Monaco are expected to demand at least £40million for a player who is under contract until 2022.
