With star forward Alexis Sanchez set to depart the Emirates in one of the next two windows coupled with the difficulty in trying to finalize a deal for Thomas Lemar last summer, Wenger is understood to be monitoring a few top talents around Europe capable of replacing the Chilean.
Wenger has previously been reported to be monitoring his compatriot’s situation at Old Trafford has now reportedly lodged an opening bid for the player which has already been knocked back by the Red Devils.
According to Transfer Market Web via Express, the Gunners have already seen a bid for the wing wizard rejected by United.

The 21-year-old striker is understood to be worried as to why he is currently not in the first team despite his assured performances in his substitute appearances off the bench.
For a player who intends to make the vastly talented French squad for the World next summer, the player’s concern is understandable.
The Frenchman suffered a little dip in form last year but looks reborn this season as he continues to fight his way back into the first team.
Following his arrival from Monaco two years ago as a teenager, Martial immediately took the Premier League in his wake finishing as the Red Devils top scorer.
Personal problems off the pitch meant he struggled to replicate such high standards last season, with five goals and six assists thus far this season, Martial seems back to his best with his clinical performances this season.
With Wenger’s long history of recruiting very talented compatriots, his interest in the player comes with no surprise. Mourinho though is understandably reluctant to let Martial leave, especially to a direct rival.
Though the report did not specify how much exactly Arsenal have to bid to sign Martial, it however suggested that the Gunners must most likely smash their transfer record to convince Mourinho to sell.
