Olivier Giroud told to move back to France by his wife

Arsenal's Giroud celebrates scoring against Tottenham Hotspur during their English Premier League soccer match at the Emirates, LondonArsenal striker Olivier Giroud could be on his way back to France this summer after being told to return to France by his wife.

The 27 year old has embroiled in personal issues with his wife after photos were published of model Celia Kay to his hotel room in the early hours of the morning and the striker has also issued a public apology to his family and fans on twitter.

The Frenchman is reportedly desperate to reconcile with his wife and has agreed to move back to France after Jennifer asked her husband to leave London.

“[Jennifer] has agreed to take him back but only on the condition they leave London and England”, a source told the Sun.

“He [Giroud] is desperate to save the marriage because he knows how stupid he’s been – so he is going along with what she wants.”

This has been mooted as a possible reason behind Giroud recently being pictured meeting with influential agent Muzzy Ozcan, though his agent denied it was anything to do with a transfer.

Giroud signed for the Gunners from Montpelier in the summer of 2012 and after struggling to settle in initially, the French international has become a key player for the Gunners. Wenger will not be pleased that Giroud has been given further distractions, as Arsenal have an extremely tough run of fixtures in March that could define the success of their season.

If the report is indeed true, then Arsenal could lose a vital player come next season. However we can easily replace him with Mario Mandzukic next season, as he is expected to exit Bayern at the end of the season due to the imminent arrival of Robert Lewandowski.
