Arsenal are likely to offload German centre-back Shkrodan Mustafi in the summer as Emery continues his clear out, according to the Telegraph.
Unai Emery has a lot of work to do this summer as the squad he inherited from his predecessor Arsene Wenger has time and time shown itself to be out of depth this season.
Despite the addition of five players on his arrival last summer, Emery has had to deal with the loss of form of several players, many of whom are now surplus to requirements at the club. At the top of that list sits Shkodran Mustafi.
The 26-year-old German international was signed from Valencia in 2016 for an astonishing £35 million (astonishing if you factor in the fact that Alexis Sanchez was signed for £32 million).
After a wonderful start to life at the Emirates, he has slowly declined since and is now struggling to establish himself as a top defender.
Mustafi has been a regular under Emery, playing all but four games this season, but he will have injuries to Koscielny, Rob Holding and Sokratis at various stages of the season to thank for his extended run in the side as he seems to have lost the patience of most at the club with his numerous mistakes this season costing the Gunners precious points.
Arsenal now look set to cut their losses on the World Cup winner in the summer and the news is likely to be greeted with joy from the club supporters.
Would you want Mustafi to be sold this summer, or do you think he can still improve under Emery?
