Manchester United are on the verge of signing Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.
The Red Devils are working on a deal to take the Chilean to Old Trafford and are believed to be favorites for his signature.
However, there are still some huddles that need to be scaled. Although Starsport understands that Sanchez will join United before the close of the transfer window, they say the deal will be largely dependent on Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Arsenal have made signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang its number one target and are believed to be in talks with Borussia Dortmund over the Gabonese. The Gunners are believed to be confident of completing a £60m deal for the Gabonese international in the next few days. However, Arsenal wouldn’t mind bringing in
Mkhitaryan as part of Sanchez deal in addition to signing Aubameyang.
Manchester United are expected to cough out up to £40m to sign Sanchez despite including Mkhitaryan in the deal.
Should the Sanchez deal go through and Arsenal sign Aubameyang, it would be a perfect January transfer window. It would mean the club strengthening its forward line despite losing its best player. It would also go a long way in softening the blow of losing Sanchez to a rival.
I don’t think any Gooner won’t want this to happen, knowing fully well that we stand to lose a lot if we keep Sanchez beyond the current window
