Alexis Sanchez has agreed a deal with Manchester City, according to transfer expert Ian McGarry.

Sanchez has been heavily linked with Manchester City since last summer. The Chilean who has about six months left in his Arsenal contract is attracting interest from a host of top clubs but it is Man City who are believed to be his preferred destination.

The Etihad club were close to signing him last summer but Arsenal blocked the deal in the last minute. They had already had a £60m accepted by the Gunners, only for the deal to be cancelled when a replacement couldn’t be brought in.

The failed move left Sanchez furious, making him even more determined to join them against Arsenal’s wishes.

McGarry is of the opinion that the winger has alread reached an agreement with City and all that is left is for Arsenal to secure a replacement.

When asked how much he thinks Sanchez would cost this window, the transfer guru said:

“We’ve got to do a quick contextualisation on Alexis Sanchez.

“It’s six months until he’s out of contract and obviously we are in January so his price is related to that.”

“I think Manchester City are prepared to pay up to £40m for him and I believe the terms of his contract has been agreed.

“It’s just about whether Arsenal can get someone into replace him in the January window, much like it was in the summer when the Thomas Lemar deal fell through.

“His pricetag doesn’t increase because of Virgil van Dijk – it increases because of his contract situation.”

Everyone knows it’s a matter of when and not if Sanchez will leave the Emirates. Wenger is determined not to lose him this winter but a tempting bid could change the situation.
