Done Deal: Everything agreed, but only ONE detail left to sort out before Arsenal announce new signing

Arsenal News HQ brings you the latest Arsenal news, match analysis, transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from trusted media outlets around the World.

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Sampdoria to sign midfielder Lucas Torreira, but are now delayed by his agent fees, according to the Daily Cannon.

Earlier reports had revealed that Arsenal had begun negotiations with Sampdoria and the 22-year old’s agent for a transfer, but no agreement had been reached at the time.

However, new reports have now emerged that Arsenal have agreed a deal with Sampdoria and will pay his €25 milllion release clause immediately, but the agent fee is delaying the deal for now.

The Gunners are desperate to conclude the deal before the World Cup starts as Torreira will be representing Uruguay at the World Cup, and a good performance there would see his price increase as his release clause expires at the end of this month.

Torriera made 38 appearances for Sampdoria last season scoring five times, and is known for his solid defensive skills, decent set-piece capability, accurate passes and good concentration. He also possesses a hammer of a foot like Granit Xhaka but is more accurate with his long range shots.

He seems to be everything the Gunners need to fill in their central midfield position, whether he is partnering Xhaka or Aaron Ramsey. And thankfully his agent has said he’ll make a decision on the 15th of June which is before the World Cup.
