Deal Done as Latest Reports Confirm Arsenal 5-year Deal for Layvin Kurzawa

Layvin Kurzawa will join Arsenal on a five-year deal, but not until the summer, according to the latest reports from France.

France Football claim negotiations between Arsenal and Layvin Kurzawa are at a ‘very advanced’ stage. They agreed on a five-year contract, and only need to come to a consensus on a signing bonus for him to join in the summer.

That’s the key update from the report, that it’s a summer transfer. As we know, Kurzawa’s contract expires in June, so he can sign a pre-contract with a foreign club now. Previous reports suggested Arsenal wanted a January transfer though.

Perhaps the switch to a summer deal is as a result of PSG’s transfer fee demands. They reportedly want between €5m and €7m for a January move.

Arsenal clearly want to bring Kurzawa in, but with their financial constraints, it’s unlikely they’ll pay millions for a player they can get for free (or a smaller signing bonus fee) in a few months.

Kurzawa signed with Kia Joorabchian’s agency Sports Invest UK recently, confirming the move yesterday. This only increases the noise around a move to Arsenal, given Joorabchian’s close links to the current club hierarchy.

The left-back also reportedly turned down Inter Milan for Arsenal.
