Arsenal are set to launch a fresh bid for Thomas Lemar in the new year, according to the Daily Mail.
Lemar was the subject of interest from Arsenal last summer but a deal couldn’t be completed before the transfer window closed.
Two bids from Arsenal in the region of £35m and £40m were rejected by Monaco earlier in the window, only for the French club to accept a £90m bid on deadline day, which the player vetoed.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are expected to return for Thomas Lemar in January.
However, the new offer will be well below the £90m we offered on deadline day. That offer was boosted by the huge money City were willing to spend on Sanchez and now that we won’t be getting that much in the winter, the Gunners are set to offer a much lesser figure for the French man.
Arsenal may have to reshuffle their playing squad in the winter, with the club contemplating on the futures of Ozil and Sanchez both of whom have their contracts expiring at the end of the season.
Wenger is now weighing up selling them in January as he plans to go back for Lemar in the new year. Should we decide to sell, we would have to bring in a replacement, making a move for Lemar a huge possibility.
