Confirmed: Arsenal to Follow Up Aubameyang Deal with Partey & Aouar Signing

Arsenal News HQ brings you the latest Arsenal news, match analysis, transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from trusted media outlets around the World.

Arsenal’s business is not over yet this summer, with the club interested in both Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar, according to a report.

The Mirror report that after signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up to a new three-year deal, Arsenal want more. They’re still looking at deals for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar this summer.

It won’t be easy in either case. Whilst Partey is reportedly keen to join the club, Atletico will only sell for his €50m (£46m) release clause. The Mirror claim Lyon also want over £40m for Aouar, with some reports suggesting they’re asking for up to €60m (£55m).

As a result, they add that Arsenal will need to sell before they can buy.

It’s certainly true that Arsenal need a few outgoings before the incomings. Not only from a financial standpoint, but also given they have too many non-homegrown players (18) on the books right now.

If the club didn’t sell anyone, they’d have to leave a few players out of the Premier League squad (17 is the maximum). Whichever players they chose would just have to sit at home every single matchday all season.

So we’re all happy to see Aubameyang extend his deal, but there’s still work to do.
