Confirmed: Arsenal Favourite Star Set to Leave The Premier League in January

A transfer to the MLS appeals to former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere as his next move, according to reports.

After spending 17 years with Arsenal and the club’s academy, Wilshere moved on to join West Ham United last summer.

Things haven’t exactly gone to plan so far, with the 27-year-old making just 16 appearances (eight starts) with his new club since joining.

Most of that has been down to injuries, as has so often been the case in Wilshere’s career. It seems as if he’s struggling to be involved even when fit now though, with his last league start coming in mid-August.

The Athletic report Wilshere could consider a move to the MLS as a result. Sources close to the player reportedly believe he’d welcome a chance to get away from the English media limelight playing for a club as their marquee signing in a league with a slower pace of football.

The player is reportedly still making a good impression in training and he did well in pre-season, but West Ham aren’t set to offer him an extension on his deal to 2021.

The Athletic claim moving to the Championship, China or India doesn’t appeal to him either. Hence the MLS emerges as his most likely destination. Perhaps it would be for the best for the player and his family to get a fresh start.
