Besiktas reached an agreement with Mohamed Elneny over his pay dispute and they’re pushing to loan him again next season, according to their club president.

Speaking to the media this week, Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Çebi claimed they settled their pay dispute with Mohamed Elneny, and they want the midfielder back on another loan next season.

“The contracts are valid until the end of the league season,” Ahmet Nur Çebi said (via Tribal Football). “Elneny, who also thought about going on strike, had to step back after the briefing of the management.

“Later, the parties met once again and an agreement was reached. Elneny gave up asking for money. In addition, we pushed the button to loan the Egyptian football player next season.”

As a result, Elneny is back in the Besiktas squad travelling to face Kayserispor on Monday. At the very least, it seems he plans to play in the final five games of his loan club’s season.

After that, we’ll have to wait and see whether Besiktas can reach an agreement with Arsenal. My guess is that it’ll depend on what other offers there are for the midfielder.

If the only option is a loan to Besiktas, Arsenal would probably prefer that over paying his full wages to sit on the bench next season. If they get a permanent offer, however, that’s surely going to take precedence.

The Gunners might even consider other loan offers ahead of Besiktas. After all, the Super Lig club have caused Elneny a few problems and showed no desire to activate his purchase clause.

To be fair, at least Elneny is playing regularly. He is up to 31 appearances for the season, only really missing games through suspension. It’s up to Arsenal what to do with him next.
