Bordeaux president Stephan Martin has warned Arsenal target Malcom not to get ahead of himself, via Tribal Football.

During the week, Malcom revealed he’s already decided to leave Bordeaux in the summer transfer window, amidst interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

The winger wanted to move to the Premier League in the winter but Bordeaux had no interest in letting him leave, he eventually stayed but it seems his desire to move to England is now stronger than ever. Speaking to UOL sport, Malcom said:

“I already said I wanted to leave this winter for a new challenge. But I also have to remind myself that Bordeaux have helped me a lot.”

“I have given my word to Bordeaux that I’ll continue so as to be able to have more time to choose my future club.

“These three or four months will make a big difference. Yes, Bordeaux have given me their word I can leave in June. I’m going to choose my next club and Bordeaux will let me leave.”

Martin has now revealed the winger claims are a surprise to Bordeaux and insisted that a move for the Brazilian isn’t certain yet.

“We did not not promise anything.

“We will review his case this summer, for sure. He made no secret of his desire to leave. We’ll talk about it again this summer,” said Martin.

Arsenal will definitely be watching the winger’s situation with keen interest and will be ready to swoop once Bordeaux decide to sell.

Wenger hasn’t signed a winger to replace Sanchez just yet, making a move for Malcom a high possibility.
