Arsenal have dcelared interest in signing Roma star midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, according to Arsenalstation.

Unai Emery is interested in the 21-year-old Italy International midfielder as Santi Cazorla has rejoined Villarreal after seeing his contract at Arsenal expire following two seasons of persistent injuries.

The Gunners are also likely to lose Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey as both star players are yet to sign a new deal at the club.

Pellegrini scored three goals in 37 appearances last season as Roma struggled to finish third in Serie A and reached The Champions League semi-finals.

The 21-year-old has been capped three times by Italy and featured in the 1-1 friendly draw with England at Wembley in March.

Pellegrini performance has caught the interest of top clubs like Arsenal and Serie A Champions Juventus.

The 21-year-old has a buy-out clause of just £22m which could be regarded in today’s market as an absolute steal and would be perfect for the Gunners as they are working on a strict budget this summer.

The Evening Standards suggests that Arsenal are reluctant to spend £35m on their other target, Ivory Coast international Jean-Micheal Seri, and have full attention on Pellegrini with a much lower release clause.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed as we might soon be welcoming the youngster to North London.
