Unai Emery does not want to “give too much away” about the hip injury that kept Granit Xhaka out of the defeat to Crystal Palace so he remains a doubt for Arsenal’s midfield for Wednesday’s trip to Molineux.
The Gunners boss has ruled Aaron Ramsey (hamstring) and Denis Suarez (groin) out of the meeting with Wolves, which will continue to limit the options in midfield, although Lucas Torreira, arguably one of Arsenal’s best players this season, makes sense as a replacement for Mohamed Elneny.
Given Emery has been fond of tweaking his side from week-to-week, changes seem inevitable after losing at home to the Eagles.
Nacho Monreal should return to the back-three for Konstantinos Mavropanos having remained on the bench on Sunday, while Sokratis Papastathopoulos is now free to come back in for Shkodran Mustafi following his suspension.
The fact that Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were named on the bench for the Palace game should see them come in for Mesut Ozil and probably one of either Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette.
