Barcelona are not prepared to take a no for an answer in their attempt to sign Hector Bellerin.
The Spanish giants tried to sign the defender last summer but Arsenal held on to the player, insisting he wasn’t for sale. That didn’t deter them, as they continued to lay underground work to sign the defender this summer and Arsenal were forced to offer the 22 year old a new six-and-a-half year deal.
It was thought that the new deal will put an end to the Spanish giants interest but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
According to reports, Barcelona are prepared to table a new bid worth over £45m to sign the defender this summer.
The Daily Star claims the Catalan giants are confident that a bid of that region will be enough to force Arsenal into selling the defender.
Bellerin has stated on several occasions in the past that he is happy at the Emirates but he recently left the door open to a move to Barcelona when he mentioned in an interview that “a lot can happen this summer”.
Arsenal and Wenger have no intention of selling Bellerin and are going to frustrate all Barca’s attempt to sign the defender. A lot would depend on the player as it is likely going to boil down to if he pushes for a move to Barca or not.
His family reportedly moved back to Barcelona recently and although sources close to the player insist that it has nothing to do with the player’s future, Barcelona must have been boosted by that development.
