Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was booked for breaking out a new masked celebration for Arsenal on Thursday night in the Europa League.
The striker scored Arsenal’s third against Rennes at the Emirates, and grabbed a Black Panther mask he had stowed behind the goal.
Aubameyang put on the mask and celebrated in front of the home fans with the Wakanda salute.
Black Panther was last year’s blockbuster superhero movie and was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars.
Wakanda is the fictional African country in the film that Black Panther hails from.
The goal was Aubameyang’s second of the game as the Gabon international inspired Arsenal to a fantastic comeback against the French side.
Sead Kolasinac laid it on a plate for Aubameyang in the 72nd minute as Arsenal overturned a 3-1 deficit from the first leg to lead 4-3 on aggregate.
Aubameyang promised last week he had a new celebration in the works and had planned to show it off against Manchester United.
But the forward could not find the mask when he converted his penalty against United last Sunday.
There were no such issues against Rennes, as Aubameyang quickly found his bag and celebrated his 22nd goal of the season.
