Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele has been tipped to be the most likely target to join the Gunners in January, according to Footbal.London.
The French winger has been heavily linked to the Gunners, especially during the summer and was even pictured hanging out with his former Borussia Dortmund teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners transfer chief Raul Sanllehi had earlier insisted the club are unlikely to be active in the January transfer as he does not like the idea of the window in the first place.
However, it didn’t stop the club being linked with a number of names, and with Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding now out with season ending injuries, the Gunners could be forced into the market.
The injury to Welbeck has further exposed Unai Emery’s need for an extra wide man in attack and while Dembele would represent a massive upgrade on what the Gunners currently have, it is believed that Barcelona will be looking for around €100 million before they let him leave.
The Gunners are also reported to be leading the race to sign Real Madrid playmaker Isco who has seemingly fallen out of favour with new manager Santiago Solari, as Lucas Vasquez has been preferred over him in recent times.
However, it is believed that Madrid are not prepared to let him leave the club for anything less than his €70 million release clause.
Despite all these astronomic fees being quoted, the bookmakers still favour Arsenal to sign Dembele as the Gunners are more likely to be able to negotiate a transfer for the French winger than the Spaniard.
