Arsenal will finish outside Top 4 for this reason – Insists Club legend

Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier has warned that Arsenal must not get carried away by their recent form as they have played relatively weaker opposition, according to the Express.

The Gunners are currently on a nine-game winning streak in all competitions, having won their last six Premier league games since losing their opening two league games.

They looked really shaky at the start of the season as they were yet to adjust to the new manager’s system, but they have been improving since so much so that during their last game they had the fans chanting “We’ve got our Arsenal back” as they made lightwork of Fulham in a 5-1 drubbing.

They are now being considered as title contenders after finishing outside the top four in the last two seasons under former boss Arsene Wenger.

Le Tissier who is now a TV pundit feels the Gunners have just benefited from favorable fixtures against far weaker opponents.

In terms of Arsenal’s form, they beat Fulham at the weekend and previous to that they were lucky against Watford and Everton, while only beating Newcastle and Cardiff by the odd goal,” Le Tissier said in his assessment of the Premier League season so far.

I don’t think they have been tested that much really, and they lost their two games against Manchester City and Chelsea – although they were unlucky against Chelsea.

“It has been nine wins in a row in all competitions, but I’m not sure the opposition in those games has been so good that they can get over-confident about their run and their title chances.”

When asked who he thinks will make the top four, he didn’t include Arsenal in his top four prediction. “I think I will go with Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs for the top four as long as Christian Eriksen doesn’t spend too long out of the team, because I think Tottenham miss him quite a bit.

“Manchester United have got some ground to make up if they are going to be in contention.”

  1. People are saying a lot of things about the Gunners. Ohoo, played weak teams, ohoo, have weak defence, etc etc . But this team has beaten Westham, which beat Man united, played well against Chelsea, done well against Waltford, Everton. If Arsenal wins all games against weak teams and draws against 4 big teams, when those big teams draw each other and lose to weak teams, what will be at the end of the season? People should consider that Arsenal is team to watch this season. Boys, prove them wrong
