Arsenal will make a second bid worth €13m for FC Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice after having an initial offer of €7m rebuffed by the Ligue 2 side, according to Get French Football News.

However, the report states that Lorient are holding out for a fee closer to €20m (including add-ons) for their prized asset and are reluctant to do business for anything lower than €15m.

The 21-year-old has been regularly linked with a move to the Gunners since the end of the season and he was spotted with former teammate Matteo Guendouzi in London last month.

Unai Emery is keen to reinforce his attacking options following the departure of Danny Welbeck and Claude-Maurice has been earmarked as a replacement as he can play out wide or centrally.

Claude-Maurice has played internationally at youth level for France and has alerted a host of clubs to his potential after scoring 14 goals in 35 matches in Ligue 2 last season.

Arsenal are set to face plenty of competition for Claude-Maurice with Monaco, Lille, Rennes, Frankfurt, Mainz, Borussia Monchengladbach and Norwich City all rumoured to be tracking him.

West Ham are also keen on signing the youngster and have reportedly tabled a £10m bid for him in an attempt to beat Arsenal to his signature.

In addition to Claude-Maurice, Emery is on the hunt for reinforcements in defence and midfield as he seeks to improve his squad ahead of next season.

Sampdoria pair Joachim Andersen and Dennis Praet have been linked this week as have River Plate winger Exequiel Palacios and CSKA Moscow forward Fedor Chalov.
