Arsenal Star Progressing Well From Injury In Time to Be Sold by Arsenal

Arsenal News HQ brings you the latest Arsenal news, match analysis, transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from trusted media outlets around the World.

Shkodran Mustafi is walking without the aid of crutches just in time to be sold this summer after an operation to reattach a tendon in his right leg to the bone.

The German defender ripped his hamstring tendon from the bone, putting an end to his season during Arsenal’s FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City.

Under Arteta, Mustafi has been a player transformed but it still looks like the club will try to move him on this summer if they can, regardless of the rumour that Arteta was pushing for a new deal for him a few months back.

His injury, of course, makes that much harder to do and Arsenal are already facing a massive loss. They paid £36.9m for a player Gary Neville said they couldn’t give away when he was manager of Valencia for a brief time.

Now, as he starts to look like a player who might be worth something in that region, he’s injured and the club want to sell him. He also only has one year left on his current deal so Arsenal know they either have to give him a new one or sell him for a cut-price in this window that would also get his wages off the payroll.

It’s great to see that he’s off crutches but given the severity of his injury and the fact he isn’t expected back in full training until October, just three months before he can speak to other clubs outside England, Mustafi could well be another hard sell for Arsenal this summer.
