Henrikh Mkhitaryan has hinted he’s ready to return from injury, around a month after he was initially expected to make his comeback.

Mkhitaryan picked up an injury to an adductor muscle at the start of October, with initial reports suggesting he’d be out for around two to three weeks of action.

That put him in line for a return around the time of the October international break, but we’re now well into the November international break and the winger is still out.

Roma coach Paulo Fonseca told reporters at the start of the month that it’s a “slow process” and they needed to “wait a while longer”. Fortunately, Mkhitaryan himself has suggested that wait is finally almost over.

The Arsenal loanee posted a picture of himself in training to his Twitter account, captioned “coming back”:

With any luck, this should mean a return after the international break, with Mkhitaryan having to sit out Armenia’s fixtures against Greece and Italy in the meantime.

Mkhitaryan had scored three times and assisted twice for club and country in the six games he’d played since his loan move from Arsenal.

As things stand, he’s set to return at the end of the season, but bouncing back from injury to produce more form like that could help draw interest in a permanent move.
