Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are all interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, according to reports.
The Jamaican winger is in fine form for Leverkusen this season and is getting a lot of praises for his performances. His form hasn’t gone unnoticed to top Premier League clubs who are now lining up a summer move for his services.
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in signing Bailey.
The Jamaican was first linked with a move to the Emirates as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez but Bayer weren’t interested in selling at the time and possibly turned back all enquiries.
A summer move away from Bayer is believed to be inevitable if he continues his rich vein of form and the Premier League is his likeliest destination.
Following the increased interest in Bailey’s services, his valuation has reportedly risen from £35m to £60m.
Arsenal couldn’t sign a direct winger to replace Alexis in the winter, so there’s every possibility such player will be top of Wenger’s list, even though we brought in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on deadline day.
After losing a player like Walcott, Arsenal lacks directness and pace out wide and it is those qualities Bailey will bring into our squad if we manage to get him.
That said, signing the Jaimacan won’t be an easy deal to pull through but considering how well the club has done in recent windows, I see no reason we can’t beat our rivals to the signing of such a talented player.
