Arsenal are interested in bringing former Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Ferreira Carrasco back to Europe in January after almost a year in China, according to talkSPORT.
The Belgian ace shocked many when he alongside his teammate Nicolas Gaitan moved to Chinese club Dalian Yifang in big money deals in January.
The 25-year-old still managed to make Roberto Martinez’s Belgium squad for the World Cup this summer where he featured heavily as they secured a third place finish in Russia.
However, just nine months on and he wants to return to Europe, he is on the lookout for interested parties according to reports from Italy.
The Gunners have been tracking him for a long time since his days at AS Monaco and made unsuccessful moves for him last year, with the opportunity potentially presenting itself again, the Gunners are looking at a January move for playmaker.
The Gunners who seem to have settled into the season with four straight wins are evidently lacking in natural wingers, and have had to fill in with the likes of Aubameyang, Alex Iwobi, Mkhitaryan and Welbeck on the flanks. Carrasco would represent a great addition given the winger’s all round strength.
He would bring what Arsenal missed after they sold Alexis Sanchez, a playmaking winger who will bring the best out of the rest of the attack. We’ll have to wait and see if the Gunners make the move ahead of Juventus who are also credited with an interest in the player.
