Manchester United have joined Arsenal in the pursuit of Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen, according to Italian daily Calciomercato.
The Gunners have been heavily linked to the Danish defender along with Italian giants Inter Milan recently.
Inter have been pushing ahead of Arsenal to try complete a move for Andersen according to recent reports.
Jose Mourinho’s side have now joined the chasing pack and have asked their scouts to keep a close eye on the player.
According to reports, the Portuguese coach has been convinced about the possibilities of signing the player and will set off what is likely to be a bidding war.
Sampdoria are looking to take advantage of the interest and get as much as they can from him. They have placed a price tag of around €30 million and are likely to increase the price as the interest continues to increase.
United are currently in need of a central defender with only Vincent Lindelof and Chris Smalling seeming to merit a place in the team these days.
Mourinho has been keen on adding another central defender to his squad and missed out on his main targets during the last transfer window.
The Gunners themselves have a number of aging defenders and will be looking to replace them as soon as possible, but should Andersen’s price tag continue to soar, they are likely to be outpriced from a deal for him.
Who do you think will land Andersen? Arsenal, Manchester United or Inter Milan.
