Arsenal are keeping a close eye on 23-year-old Red Bull Salzburg forward Hwang Hee-chan, according to reports.
The Daily Mail report that both Arsenal and Crystal Palace are interested in the Salzburg forward, who made it into the headlines in England after a goal and an assist in his recent match against Liverpool.
Hwang has made a hugely impressive start to the season, scoring seven goals and assisting 10 in 11 games in all competitions. He’s actually only played 556 minutes, giving an average of one goal contribution every 33 minutes.
Of course, most of that is in the Austrian Bundesliga, where Salzburg are completely and utterly dominant. 10 games into the season, they have a five-point lead at the top of the table and a goal difference of +37. Hwang isn’t the only one padding his stats.
Nonetheless, two goals and three assists in two Champions League matches suggest the South Korean international can do it in more competitive matches too.
Arsenal aren’t exactly desperate for attacking options right now, but with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both getting older and the likes of Eddie Nketiah, Tyreece John-Jules, Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun still so young, a 23-year-old forward with Champions League experience could bridge the gap between the two.
