Arsenal aren’t looking to sign Thomas Lemar, despite Atletico Madrid’s attempts to offload the winger to the Premier League, according to reports.
Goal report that Arsenal aren’t currently looking to sign Thomas Lemar. They don’t have the funds for a big-money purchase in forward areas, and they feel they already have options at that end of the pitch.
Atletico certainly seem willing to let Lemar leave. They’re trying to sign a striker in the January window and need the funds and wage-bill space.
Unfortunately, Arsenal don’t view the player as an option ‘too good to turn down’ in their current situation. That’s what Goal claim it would take for the Gunners to splash out on a permanent deal in January.
Instead, Lemar could end up with Tottenham Hotspur on loan with an option to buy. Reports suggest there are offers on the table from the Premier League, just not from Arsenal.
The 24-year-old is struggling with Atletico Madrid. He has no goals and no assists in 21 games this season, and he’s out with a hamstring injury. A move would be a good way to reinvigorate his career.
