Arsenal in Talks For New & Improved Contracts For Lacazette and Aubameyang

Arsenal News HQ brings you the latest Arsenal news, match analysis, transfer news, injury news, team news and rumours from trusted media outlets around the World.

Talks are underway with both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette over contract extensions, according to reports.

The Daily Mail claim Arsenal will offer Aubameyang a substantial pay-rise to take him closer to Mesut Özil’s current wages, and qualifying for the Champions League would give him a further salary increase as well as a one-off bonus payment.

The club are also reportedly in talks over an extension for Lacazette. The Mail don’t reveal any further details on that front – simply stating that talks have begun.

We know Lacazette’s agent met with Arsenal over the summer, though it’s not clear exactly why. Some reports claimed it was to discuss a bid from a Spanish club, whilst others said it was for a contract extension.

TalkSPORT then claimed in August that both players had signed new deals, but two months later we’ve still had no announcement, so it seems pretty clear their information wasn’t well sourced.

James Benge of Football.London wrote on Twitter at the time that Arsenal were confident the pair will stick around, but that nothing had been agreed. Hopefully, they’re still just as optimistic right now.

Aubameyang has eight goals in eight games for Arsenal this season, whilst Lacazette had scored two in two starts before he was sidelined with injury.
