Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Granit Xhaka were all missing from the Arsenal squad to face Huddersfield on Saturday.
Emery made two changes to his starting XI that lost to Manchester City last time out, with Aubameyang missing due to illness while Stephan Lichtsteiner was dropped to the bench.
Mesut Ozil is said to have the same illness bug that has also ruled Aubameyang out of the game, with the German missing his seventh game since January 2017 due to sickness.
Ramsey, who was on the bench for Arsenal’s defeat to City, is suffering a knee problem meaning he didn’t make the trip to the John Smith’s Stadium.
The Welshman did come on for 25 minutes against the reigning Premier League champions, but he couldn’t prevent the Gunners for losing.
Xhaka’s absence from Saturday’s squad is due to a groin issue, and it remains unknown if he will be fit for Thursday’s Europa League clash against BATE Borisov.
Barcelona loan signing Denis Suarez was also unable to force his way into the starting XI, with the Spaniard starting game on the bench.
However, the Arsenal side were boosted by Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s return, with the Armenian international making his first start for the Gunners since suffering injury on December 22.
