Arsenal legend Tony Adams believes Aaron Ramsey is currently playing well because he wants to increase his chances of moving to a big club, according to thesportreview.

The 27-year-old Wales international midfielder is out of contract with the Gunners at the end of the season, and is set to leave the club as they withdrew their last contract offer to him after months of negotiations.

Following the contract disappointment, Ramsey has seen something of an upsurge to his form, starting with the game against Fulham where he got off the bench and within 38 seconds started the move for, and scored one of the best team goals seen so far this season.

Since then he has been impressive off the bench, coming on at half time to play a huge part the Gunners North London derby win last week which earned him a start against Manchester United on Wednesday night where he wore the captain’s armband until he was forced off with an injury.

In total he has scored twice and laid 6 assists in 18 appearances in all competitions, and is currently the club’s top assistant in the league.

However, Adams who was formerly an Arsenal captain is not bought by his current level of performance.

He’s obviously playing really well because he is a free at the end of the season,” Adams told BT Sport on Wednesday night.

He’s trying to get himself the best club possible, isn’t he? It’s a bit of a weird situation that.”

He has been linked to a number of clubs including Liverpool, Barcelona and AC Milan. He might also make a move in January if some of those interests are followed up.
