Arsenal defender hints he could return to action in December.

Arsenal right-back and French international Mathieu Debuchy has hinted that he could mark his return during the busy December season.

The summer acquisition – who joined The Gunners from Premier League side Newcastle – has not featured in an Arsenal game since sustaining a knee injury in the 2-2 draw against Manchester City at the Emirates back in September.

The 29-year old used his free time to visit the Arsenal Soccer School in Dubai.

Here is what he had to say:

“My injury is now better,” Debuchy said while in Dubai. “I work hard every day with the physio and I want to be back on the pitch in December. I’m looking forward to it.”

Despite suffering an injury after making only 4 appearances for the Gunners, Debuchy admitted he was overwhelmed with joy when he signed for Arsenal. He however maintains that he is focused on his recuperation process and is positive on making a return soon.

“Training at Arsenal is an extremely high standard. I’m nearly 30 but I’m still improving by training with players who are of such a high quality, like everyone at Arsenal,” added the defender.

He also cited that it’s been frustrating watching from the stands rather than making an impact on the pitch. Nonetheless, he expressed his confidence in the team as Arsenal prepares to host Manchester United on Saturday.

From his tweet he seemed to have had a good time at the south eastern coast of the Persian Gulf:

Get well soon Mat!
