Arsenal are reportedly confident of wrapping up a deal for Yannick Carrasco this summer.
Carrasco has confirmed that he’s itching to leave Dalian Yifang after a one-and-a-half year spell with the Chinese Super League club and Arsenal have registered a strong interest in the 25-year-old winger.
It’s understood Arsenal have held discussions over a possible agreement for Carrasco, with some reports claiming that a £25-27million offer has already been submitted by the north London giants.
According to The Daily Mirror, Arsenal favour a loan move for Carrasco – with an option to buy next summer – but Dalian would rather cash in on the Belgian and are holding out for a permanent deal.
While Arsenal are not the only club keen on Carrasco, the report suggests they are ‘confident’ of landing the former Atletico Madrid star.
Bayern Munich are also weighing up a bid to sign Carrasco after being priced out of a move for Leroy Sane, with Manchester City demanding £90m for the Germany attacker.
Carrasco, who joined Dalian along with Atleti team-mate Nicolas Gaitan in February 2018, has made no secret of his desire to return to Europe.
He said: ‘Everyone knows I want to return to Europe. Now it depends on my president and I hope a solution is found. ‘I can’t speak about [the interested] club, but I hope that everything can be sorted.
‘I’m not the one who decides. That’s my president. He will decide if he lets me leave or not, but I hope I can return.’
Another player on Arsenal’s radar is Jordan Veretout and the Fiorentina midfielder is ready to join a ‘big club’, according to his agent.
‘There are four or five important clubs who want Veretout, in Italy and abroad,’ Mario Giuffredi told Radio CRC.
‘I don’t like to name names, but we’ll see what happens and who steps forward to close the deal.
‘Jordan is one of the best in Europe. He has the quantity, quality and much more and he deserves a big club.’
