Arsenal are set to revive their interest in Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet this summer.
The Belgium international was first identified as a potential target by Arsene Wenger after Praet impressed against his side playing for Anderlecht in the Champions League five years ago.
Praet has subsequently enhanced his reputation in Serie A with Sampdoria where he formed a solid midfield partnership with Lucas Torreira, before the Uruguayan moved to north London after last summer’s World Cup.
Corriere dello Sport claims Unai Emery, whose transfer budget will largely depend upon whether he can secure Champions League qualification, with a €20million move.
Regardless of how Arsenal finish the season, Emery will need to strengthen in midfield given Aaron Ramsey’s impending departure to Juventus.
Arsenal will listen to offers for Mohamed Elneny, while Granit Xhaka also recently claimed he may assess his options come the end of the season.
Emery, meanwhile, will not retain the services of Denis Suarez who has made just six substitute appearances since his January loan move from Barcelona and is likely to miss the rest of the season with a groin strain.
