Denis Suarez’s agent has refused to rule out a move to Napoli this summer and admits the injured midfielder’s spell at Arsenal ‘hasn’t been his best’.
The 25-year-old has failed to adapt to the physical demands of English football since joining on loan from Barcelona in January and has been limited to just six substitute appearances for the Gunners.
Arsenal have the option to buy Suarez outright ahead of the 2019/20 campaign but Unai Emery is already exploring other options due to the Spaniard’s struggles.
Suarez has been suffering with a persistent groin injury in recent weeks and the midfielder’s agent, Felix Guende, believes his client has been unable to build up any momentum during his time in north London.
‘He has two years left at Barcelona. This year in England hasn’t been his best. He’s played little and hasn’t been able to find a rhythm,’ he told Radio Kiss Kiss.
‘At the moment, he’s injured. He has muscle fatigue and an injury.
‘We’re awaiting the results from the exams.’
Guende has revealed that Suarez is keeping his options open amid reported interest from Arsenal’s Europa League opponents Napoli.
‘Napoli? The interest is always appreciated, being a team that has been fighting for the top positions for years,’ he added.
‘It’s a bit soon to talk about the transfer window, but we aren’t excluding anything.’
