Paris Saint Germain now lead the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal in the race to sign AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, according to Calciomercato.
Kessie has become one of the most important players in Gennaro Gattuso’s AC Milan side since joining the club in 2017.
His continuous impressive performances have attracted attention from European clubs with Arsenal and Chelsea monitoring the Ivory Coast international over the past years, but PSG now lead the pack and have the most interest in bringing him in this summer.
Kessie’s current contract with the Rossoneri expires in 2021 and the club want to extend his stay as Gattuso wants to be assured of his long-term future at the club.
The central midfielder joined AC Milan for €32 million and the club may be forced to listen to offers in the region of €30 million in the summer as they look to balance their books.
The Serie A side are waiting to find out their punishment from FIFA for breaching the Financial Fair play rules and might need to sell a top player to be able to sign players in the summer.
Arsenal recently confirmed midfielder Aaron Ramsey will be joining Juventus in the summer.
“He has always been a consummate professional and will always have a special place in the hearts and memories of Arsenal fans around the world,” the club said.
They will now be looking to sign his replacement in the summer.
