[4-2-3-1] Lacazette, Mkhitaryan, Ozil and Wilshere start in Swansea vs Arsenal strongest XI

Arsene Wenger will have Henrikh Mkhitaryan available for the trip to Swansea City, though he has yet to decide whether to put the Armenian straight into the starting XI.

One option could be to use Mkhitaryan alongside Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi in an attacking midfield trio behind lone striker Alexandre Lacazette.

That would see Jack Wilshere and Granit Xhaka start at the base of midfield in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Alternatively, Mohamed Elneny could start in a defensive midfield role in a 4-1-2-3 system, seeing Wilshere and Xhaka operate slightly further forward, with Ozil then playing from the right in place of Mkhitaryan.

Aaron Ramsey is also at Wenger’s disposal, although his lack of match fitness may see him feature off the bench.

Olivier Giroud is set to return to the squad following a hamstring injury, though his involvement could be limited amid speculation on his future at the club.

If Wenger opts for a back four, Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal should all start.

Calum Chambers provides the main back-up in central defence, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Sead Kolasinac offer alternatives on the left side of the defence.

Danny Welbeck remains sidelined, while Santi Cazorla a long-term absentee.
