Mesut Ozil missed the 1-0 victory over Burnley due to illness and according to Arsene Wenger, could still be “short” ahead of the visit of Huddersfield Town to the Emirates.
However, the playmaker has trained and will face a late fitness test. Theo Walcott is available following his own bout of illness, but Alex Iwobi is a major doubt having sustained a dead leg against Burnley.
Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck are both possible alternatives in the attacking midfield spots.
Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette should both retain their starts elsewhere in the front three, with Olivier Giroud not expected to push for a place in the starting XI.
Unless the Arsenal boss looks to rotate, Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey should both continue in central midfield, leaving Hector Bellerin and Sead Kolasinac in the wing-back positions.
Following back-to-back clean sheets, the back three of Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal is expected to remain unchanged.
Koscielny is dealing with a long-term Achilles problem, though, and could struggle to play three matches in a week.
So with Manchester United up next on the weekend, Per Mertesacker may be an option to start in central defence.
Santi Cazorla is a long-term absentee.
