Bookies have backed Manchester United to sign Jack Wilshere, as Arsenal’s renewal talks continue to drag on.
There’s no new development as regards a contract extension for Wilshere as it’s all be speculation ever since December.
Recent reports had suggested Wilshere is close to signing a new deal but there is no sign of that at the club and the bookies have now suggested that Wilshere may be on his way.
Bookmakers Betstars via the Daily Star have installed Juventus as the favourites to sign the midfielder, with United also in the running for his signature.
BetStars spokesman Ian Marmion said, as quoted by the Daily Star: “Serie A champions Juventus have set their sights on Arsenal star Jack Wilshere as the man to rejuvenate their midfield, after the Italian giants cooled their interest in signing Liverpool’s Emre Can.
Despite Wilshere forcing his way back into Arsene Wenger’s starting XI after overcoming injury, Juve are determined to get their man and the Old Lady are valued at 6/1 to swipe the 26-year-old playmaker from the Gunners.
“Manchester United could make a shock swoop for the Arsenal midfielder as a long-term successor for Michael Carrick in the centre of the park at Old Trafford.”
“The Red Devils can be backed at 8/1 to become the England international’s next club, while Bournemouth are the outsiders at 25/1 to bring their former loan star back to the south coast on a permanent deal.”
Wilshere has been impressive this season and it would be sad to see him leave. Wenger recently claimed he wants the midfielder to stay but the manager now has to back his words with action by stepping efforts to secure his future.
