Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has denied reports linking his client with a €40m move to Manchester.
Jorginho has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester, with both City and United believed to be keen on his services.
Arsenal have been monitoring Jorginho for quite sometime and there’s never been a transfer window that his name hasn’t cropped up in Arsenal’s rumour mill but reports in Italy yesterday claimed both Manchester clubs are now leading the race to sign the midfielder.
Speaking to Radio CRC via Gunnersphere.com, Santos has rubbished those reports, claiming his client isn’t thinking of a move away from Napoli.
“Manchester United and Manchester City? When you’re playing for the Serie A leaders it’s only logical that important teams will ask for updates: for example on the length of the contract. I’m glad to come here [to Naples] too, it’s a very Brazilian climate. In Manchester it rains too often!”
Jorginho has been in fine form for Napoli this season, helping his team top the Serie A table after week 23.
He has featured 20 times for Napoli this season, helping to stop opposition attacks and initiate his team’s own.
Sitting just one point ahead of Juventus, the last thing Napoli wants now is for any of their player to be distracted by transfer talks, so it is only logical for Santos to rubbish those links.
It is unlikely that a club as big as Manchester United, City or Arsenal will come calling for Jorginho’s signature and he won’t consider it.
