Arsenal have placed a £30m price-tag on Theo Walcot, according to the Express.
Walcott is attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs but Arsenal could deter suitors, after placing a huge price tag on the winger.
The England international has fallen out of favor at the Emirates and could be tempted to leave the club. However, Wenger wants to keep every member of his squad until at least the end of the season.
Southampton, Everton, Newcastle and West Ham have all been linked with the winger but it is the Saints who were touted as favorites to sign him.
They are said to be preparing a loan bid for the winger but the latest development is expected to deter them.
Arsenal wouldn’t hold Walcott back if he wants to leave but interested clubs must be prepared to pay up. The Gunners want a similar deal to that of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who joined Liverpool for around that same figure.
Realistically speaking, Arsenal will find it difficult to broker the kind of the deal it did for Chamberlain because of the statue of clubs interested in Walcott.
Of all the clubs being linked with the winger, it is only Everton who have the financial backing from their owner to spend big.
Although Southampton recently got £75m from Virgil Van Dijk sale, they are not known for spending big. It is unlikely they’ll now change their approach because of Walcott.
