Arsene Wenger has admitted he will hold talks with the board over his future at the end of the season.
The manager was speaking with BEIN Sports during the international break when he stated he will sit with the board to discuss his future next summer.
Recently, there were reports about Arsenal contacting Ancelotti over the possibility of being the next manager and Wenger has fueled those speculations with his comments.
Wenger threw his future into doubts with his comments at the Annual General meeting held last month and when asked to clarify his comments, the boss said: “I said I sit down with the board at every end of season and see where we will go from there, so that’s not exactly the same,” reports the Daily Mail.
“Sometimes as well, you make a sentence and people turn it the way they would like to go. I have a two-year contract, I will always try to go to the end of my contract, but will always have the honesty to sit down with the board and to see where we go from there. That’s quite simple.”
Wenger’s comments does leave open the possibility of leaving the Emirates at the end of the season, which I don’t think will come as a surprise to many of us.
Fans have been calling for him to resign in the past few years and it was a big surprise when he signed a new two year deal last summer. It remains to be seen whether he’ll see out the length of his current deal.
