Olivier Giroud who has been a good form for his international side France, might have spent his last season as an Arsenal player as reports continues to link him with a move away from the Emirates.
The French striker had a difficult time last term, after losing his place in the starting xi to Alexis Sanchez.
Sanchez’s form at centre forward last term was so good that Wenger couldn’t find a place for Giroud in the starting xi.
That seem to have frustrated the French man who has granted several interviews on his future, where he insisted he would consider his future if he isn’t assured a place in the starting xi next term.
Now, French publication L’Equipe [ via London Football] has dropped a huge bombshell on Giroud’s future.
They claim the striker isn’t in Wenger’s plans for the future, meaning he could be sold this summer.
Last week, reports claimed he could be included in a swap deal to bring either Alexandre Lacazette or Kylian Mbappe to the Emirates but L’Equipe say that isn’t true.
They claim the striker doesn’t want to return to France just yet and he would prefer to remain in the Premier League or Arsenal.
This will definitely come as a huge boost to West Ham who have been linked with the forward in recent weeks.
At 30, Wenger may be looking to offload Giroud for a younger and more quality striker. West Ham may also be willing to sanction a big money move for Giroud which we can invest in strengthening our squad.
