It was an entertaining game, could have gone either way but ultimately we have lost further ground on Chelsea. We got some of our attacking moves together, defensively we were well, Arsenalish. However the attitude and character of this team is top notch.
Wojciech Szczesny- 7/10
The cynic in me would say he should have left Flamini to head the ball clear for the second goal but he redeemed himself with a match saving save from Dzeko right at the death.
Mathieu Debuchy – 7/10
Made some interventions and was defensively secure till he banjaxed his ankle completely. Stretchered off and hopefully not too serious.
Per Mertesacker – 7.5/10
Per had a solid game, his reading of the game was top class but surely as the organiser in the team, he could have done better for the second goal. Classic BFG though.
Laurent Koscielny – 8/10
The Frenchman dealt with Aguero well for most of the game and he along with BFG kept the City attack reasonably quiet till the last quarter when Arsenal were all over the place. Fortunate not to concede an own goal.
Nacho Monreal – 7/10
Had a decent game, it was a collective failure for the first goal, don’t blame him. He has been impressive this season and Gibbs will have to fight his way into the team.
Mathieu Flamini – 6.5/10
He played, he flamed, got booked, lost Aguero for the opener. Could have got a better rating had he poked Nasri’s eyes.
Aaron Ramsey – 7/10
The Welshman has hasn’t been the Welsh Jesus so far this season, tried a lot of flicks and tricks, only a few came off.
Jack Wilshere – 9/10
My man of the match, slowly getting to his best, scored a great goal and played in a glorious ball to Ramsey, which the Welshman unfortunately couldn’t connect properly.
Will the real Ozil stand up please?
Alexis Sanchez – 8.5/10
The Chilean was excellent, his work rate and attitude is fantastic and his goal was like “what the hell” was that.
Danny Welbeck – 7/10
Welbeck had a good debut and could have had a goal scoring one had his glorious chip not hit the post. Lively
Calum Chambers – 6/10
Came on for the injured Debuchy and was solid.
I don’t remember him touching the ball
Mikel Arteta – N/A
Came in for Flamini.
